Receiving your item: inspection, codes, and release
Understand the difference between meeting to inspect and receiving a delivery with time to review.

Check the receiving arrangement in your Deal
Receiving an item is more than a Seller saying it has arrived. Your Deal records how handoff, inspection, and release will work. Read that arrangement before delivery day so you know which action comes next.
There are two different receiving journeys: meeting while the Seller or their representative stays for inspection, and receiving an item that you will review afterward. They have different release conditions.
When you meet and inspect
Agree the meeting arrangements in the Deal. When both sides arrive, agree the inspection time and check the item against the description, condition, quantity, and included accessories.
If you accept the item, follow the handoff steps in SHYLDA. The Seller confirms the delivery code, then the Buyer separately authorizes final release using their private release passcode. An inspection timer ending does not authorize release.
If the item does not match, raise a Dispute before authorizing release. For example, if a phone was agreed as undamaged but its screen is cracked, record the mismatch while the item is still there. Do not authorize release on a promise to sort it out later.
When you receive and review afterward
Check the Delivery Plan, including the destination, recipient, expected window, and any representative receiving for you. Reveal the delivery code only when the item is present for handoff.
After the Seller successfully confirms that code, the agreed verification window begins. Check the deadline shown in the Deal and inspect the item within it. If no Dispute is open when the window ends, the Shyld Agreement allows automatic release.
A Seller delivery claim or tracking update alone does not start this receiving window. If an item was left without the delivery-code step, use the response shown in the Deal to report what happened. Do not confirm something that did not happen.
Delivery code and release passcode have different jobs
The delivery code is used for the handoff step. The release passcode is your private authorization for a release action. Never send your release passcode to the Seller or share it in a message.
A delivery code is not permission to skip inspection or ignore the review deadline. In the receive-and-review journey, it starts the agreed window; in the meet-and-inspect journey, final release still requires the separate Buyer authorization.
If something is missing, damaged, or different from the agreement, open a Dispute within the applicable window and before release. Add clear evidence to the Deal. Release is final, so checking the item and acting on the deadline matters.
