What to review before Secure with Shyld

Check the agreement, total amount, fees, and release conditions before activating Shyld protection.

Read the Deal you are accepting

Secure with Shyld is the point where the Buyer activates protection under the Shyld Agreement. Take time to read the final terms, even when you have already discussed the Deal with the Seller elsewhere.

For goods, check the exact item, quantity, condition, price, delivery method, and expected timing. For services, check the scope, promised deliverables, milestones where included, revisions, and how completion will be reviewed. Ask for unclear details to be resolved before continuing.

Four paper cards represent the item, separate charges, timing and agreed conditions.

Review the full amount and the Protection Fee

The amount review shows the Deal amount, any separately protected delivery fee, the Protection Fee and who covers it, and any Trust Reward Credit applied. Check the amount required from your available Deal Balance as well as the agreed amount the Seller will receive.

Who covers the Protection Fee can depend on the Deal. Do not assume that it always falls on the Buyer or always on the Seller. The fee and its payer must be clear in the review before Secure with Shyld.

For example, if you agree an item price and a separate delivery fee, check that both appear as agreed. If the delivery fee is included in the protected Deal, it should not be collected from you again at the door.

Read the release and return conditions for delivery separately from the item price. An earned delivery fee may not be returned with the item amount. The agreement explains which amounts remain protected at each step.

Know what allows funds to be released

SHYLDA does not hold your funds. It follows the release conditions recorded in the Shyld Agreement. The Buyer reviews and accepts those conditions before protection begins.

The release rule depends on the Deal. An inspection at handoff includes a separate Buyer release authorization. A delivery followed by a review window may release automatically when that window ends without a Dispute. Service completion also follows the particular conditions agreed for the work.

Read when the review period starts, how long you have to report a problem, and whether an automatic release rule applies. Do not rely on a general assumption that every Deal waits for a final button press.

Check what happens if something is wrong

Review the applicable Dispute and return conditions, including deadlines, evidence, item condition, and return transport responsibility. A change-of-mind return is included only when the agreed policy allows it; it is different from an item that does not match the agreement.

If something is unclear, resolve it before activating protection. Once the Deal is Shylded, both sides must follow the accepted agreement. Keep your release passcode private and use it only for the action you have reviewed inside your Deal.
